On Friday 29 July 2011, we welcomed back Connaught Opera (two singers and a pianist) to the Clore Learning Centre at Hampton Court Palace. They performed songs from the shows and light operetta to nearly 300 elderly and disabled people from the Boroughs of Richmond and Kingston who jointly funded the performances. The invited audience was treated to songs on the theme of the forthcoming Olympics in London – with songs to represent the five continents and dresses to match the colours on the Olympic flag. The three concerts (at 11am, 1.30pm and 3pm – are they in training for the triathlon?) were much enjoyed by all who attended.
