Recipe for an evening of art and entertainment

Ingredients:

  • One Dr Sketchy, the renowned ‘anti-art’ school which believes that anyone can draw
  • Two Past Pleasures costumed interpreters, dressed as Charles II’s mistresses, Nell Gwyn and Barbara Villiers
  • Several happy punters, ready to learn to draw (no artistic talent necessary)
  • A large handful of 2B pencils, putty rubbers, drawing boards and paper
  • A range of weird and witty prizes
  • One beautiful historic royal palace, at night
  • A whole lot of laughter
  • And just a pinch of cabaret camp

Mix Dr Sketchy to Past Pleasures and stir vigorously. The result will be a unique life drawing workshop with Charles II’s mistresses as your muses. Add the happy punters, and spread among them equally the pencils, rubbers, boards and paper. Sprinkle in prizes for the most promising sketches, and season to taste with lots of laughter and a pinch of cabaret camp. Place the whole lot into a beautiful historic royal palace at night, and prepare to taste a delicious slice of drawing, decadence and downright fun.
